Loyalty Pledge takes immense pride in announcing that two of our scholars have achieved 3 As in the Biology stream at the General Educational Certificate Advanced Level examination in 2024. Loyalty Pledge congratulates and extends its best wishes to all the recipients of results on their performance at the examination.
Supun Abeysekara who is a scholar of Loyalty Pledge from Kurunegala, secured 3 As in the Biology stream returning the best performances of all the LPMC scholars at this exam. He became 14th in Colombo district and 209th in the Island. Supun joined Royal College after obtaining exemplary 194 marks at the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. He was ranked 04th in Sri Lanka at the Grade 05 Scholarship Examination. He continued his academic excellence by obtaining 9 As in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination. Supun held various leadership positions in the sports and co-curricular activities in the College, and he was actively involved with the cadet platoon at Royal. He was a Junior Steward as well as Senior Prefect of the College.
Heshan Induwara Ranasinghe obtained 3 As in Biology stream. He secured 81st and 297th ranks in Colombo District and the Island respectively. The journey of Heshan has not been a bed of roses. He hails from Karandeniya, Galle. He scored 183 marks in his Grade 05 Scholarship Examination and thereafter, he attended Royal College. He continued his excellent academic streak by obtaining 9 A’s at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examinations. Heshan’s engagements at Royal were not limited to academic pursuits. He was a member of the College weightlifting team taking part in a number of tournaments representing the College.
Loyalty Pledge has been able to be a tower of strength to both Supun and Heshan throughout their academic career at Royal. Loyalty Pledge made sure that their financial hardships would not have become a barrier to achieving these goals. Today, they have become true testimonies for the purpose and spirit of Loyalty Pledge. Both Supun and Hesha have extended their sincere gratitude to the Royal College Union, Loyalty Pledge and donors of Loyalty Pledge. Whilst Loyalty Pledge is wishing them best of luck with the next phase of their education, Loyalty Pledge will be committed to supporting them to aspire their dreams and become beneficial citizens to Sri Lanka.
